A licensed professional counselor, Carly M. Rowan, MS, LPC primarily conducts sessions with children and adolescents, especially those struggling with stress, anxiety, and depression, through her own private practice, WellNest Counseling, and the East Texas Counseling Group. Additionally, she provides mental health services to individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of clinical and relational issues, including family conflicts and parenting issues. Prioritizing that every client should be treated with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, she tailors dialogues and treatment plans to meet their unique and specific needs. She has even recently incorporated a therapy dog, named Packer, into her sessions. Ms. Rowan finds it rewarding to help families and see them reconcile and work together more cohesively; she strives to support and empower her clients on their journeys toward a happier and more fulfilling life.
Armed with a Bachelor of Arts from Tabor College and a master’s degree in clinical mental health from LeTourneau University, Ms. Rowan’s further credentials include certifications in working with children and other clients with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and autism, in addition to becoming a licensed professional counselor in 2023. Outside of her clinical training, it was gaining work experience at a community mental health center early on that gave her a sense of clarity about her career direction.
Attributing her success to her faith and support from her family, Ms. Rowan believes her role in the field of mental health services is a divine-ordained calling for her. She is determined to be a positive role model as she continues to devote herself to her profession. Continually expanding her expertise and knowledge, she’s in the process of pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling education and supervision from Liberty University with aspirations of supervising other therapists, particularly graduate interns and licensed professional counselor associates. She also helps individuals, couples, and families with a wide range of clinical and relational issues, conducts sessions with children and adolescents, some of whom with disabilities, couples, families, and individuals through her private practice.
